Pro Add-On: Import Businesses from Google

Rapidly seed your directory with real local businesses—names, photos, hours, website/socials, summaries, and recent reviews.

What gets imported?

  • Business name, address, phone.
  • Basic description/summary.
  • Website if present (and common social links when apparent).
  • Hours of operation (where available).
  • Photos/logo and a few public reviews (when available).

After import, you can edit anything from your dashboard before publishing or featuring it.

How to use the Import tool

  1. Open Import from your main site (Pro users).
  2. Enter a City and State (e.g., “New York, NY”).
  3. Optionally filter by a category (e.g., “auto repair”, “cleaners”).
  4. Review the search results and click Import on businesses you want.
  5. Wait 20–40 seconds between imports to allow images and reviews to finish fetching.

If you’re importing a batch, do it in small sets (3–5), wait a minute, then continue. This improves data completeness and avoids rate-limit hiccups.

Best practices

  • Deduplicate: If a business already exists in your directory, skip or merge.
  • Quick-edit after import: Confirm the short summary reads naturally and the excerpt is a clean, one-sentence version of it.
  • Pick a main photo: Set the logo (or best image) as the primary image so listings look polished.
  • Reviews: Imports a small sample.

Troubleshooting

Images or reviews didn’t appear: This usually resolves if you wait a little and refresh the listing. If you bulk-imported too quickly, open the listing later and add a photo manually.

Rate-limit messages: Slow down your imports (20–40s spacing) and try again. Smaller batches work best.

After seeding your city

  • Start your sales cadence to convert imports to paid, claimed listings.
